I was not impressed with the NBC coverage either! They seem to be just as mainstream or "sports-neutral" as the other networks, meaning they care more for profits than covering the most important sporting event of the YEAR. Just before the start of the first race, at the 2:30 mark, the put on a 3- minute COMMERCIAL!!

FIRST RACE: Light winds seemed to favor the Kiwis, and Oracle was over the start early, for a penalty.

In the SECOND RACE, Oracle closed up to TNZ but hit a hole just after the last upwind, and was stuck for almost a minute, and we know how that feels.

That sad, these two teams are essentially equal, and every race should be dead-even. That is was the TV experts (like Outteridge, Cammas and Barker) were saying.

I noticed the A50 conforms to the "Box Rule." That's cool! It give the Footy a bit of class, knowing it shares something important with the America's Cup.

NZ at 5-1 is making it look like the San Francisco Series all over again. Let's hope that Jimmie Spithill can pull it out again!
US looked fast on Saturday but this first race today, on Sunday, didn't show the speed necessary to beat the Kiwi's.
Hope Oracle gets a good start on this next race!

Kind of moves and tactics I would expect from a "newbie" multihull skipper. Spithill needs to get his head screwed on tighter and "THINK" and "ANTICIPATE"

Congratulations to the Kiwi's. They did it with class! They are a great team that seem to have done everything right.

It will be a long wait for the America's Cup 36 for the American effort to bring the cup back home to the U.S.
At my ripe old age of 75 I may not get the opportunity to see the "Cup" won again by the U.S.

I suppose the Oracle souvenir and team gear will be a lot cheaper now. Or, maybe they will increase the prices a lot, so they can hire a new crew and build a boat that works.

The good thing for today is that there won't be any riots because Oracle didn't win, but they might be having a kind of riot in NZ, though you'd really call it a massive party that got out-of-control.

OK, so let's go back to r/c yachting for the next few years...
