I wonder what has been done in regards to the modification which makes in unregisterable? Other than the engine, which could be easily removed and shaft removed and hole patched...

I did ask that questions to the seller. so Iguess we'll see...

    Hi Marc,

Hulls that were not registered before the current class molds became the standard cannot be registered. Old registered hulls were grandfathered but no new registrations are allowed (transfers are ok). Check with Rick West before purchase if you want to race AMYA. He'll tell you if it's a legal hull.

I have a 1972 Carr hull that you can sail in the R3 if you like. I'm thinking about getting out of the EC12. It's too heavy and sluggish. On the other hand, we've got a good fleet here that I like to sail with. It's my social boat rather than a racing class.

I spoke with rick....andgot some more info on the guy who owns it. it is old hull that was not ever registered....among other things....I figured it was too good of deal. but it never hurts to ask questions....you may get lucky with the old "car covered in barn" find...

I'll probably end up buying a bare hull from BCMYC and building my own...but I'm always on the prowl for a deal. even if it is a fixer-upper...

I got the info needed fromt he ebay seller that the hull was made as a COPY from a registered hull, thus making it a non-registered hull and never allowed to register since it is not made by a manufacturer.
