No doubt, but did you not see that it was a play on words to create humour...

Ray. of course I knew it was play on words. usually its you brits who have the oddball humor that I have trouble with..but this I understoood

Maybe if I had said, "Its Ya'll and its in the southerns states where many would not know a yawl from a ketch..."

Who was it said something along the lines of 'two nations divided by a common language'?

Have you ever read 'Mother Tongue' by Bill Bryson (an anglophile yank)? An interesting exploration of American English and English English drifting apart over the centuries - turns out that much American English is rather more conservative, and therefore closer to the roots, than English English.

Anyway, I digress too far from the thread, which I've thoroughly enjoyed reading and witnessing Flavio's work.

    ray,

glad we figured it out....You know if you talk with a southern accent generally the folks up north automatically deduct 10 IQ points... I have lived on the east coast my entire life from florida to NY and let me tell you...in some cases you'd think you speaking another language...

But yes flavio IS a master....

    Default Brando sistership

I am happy to report that Alex, a skilled italian modeller from Rome, is currently building a sistership of my little catboat footy.

Alex is building his own footy in a quickly and beautiful way, and he is also posting pictures of it on an italian model web site (www.baronerosso.it).

Due to the fact that Alex is showing here and there small interesting ideas slighty different from my plans, ( such as the different mast box ) I feel that these picture should be posted here too.

During next days I will show also updated building steps.

    Default brando's replica again

during these days I have been very busy ( an a bit lazy ) I have not posted here new pictures arriving from Rome.

    my apologizes..

On this footy, alessandro used a different arrangement , both for steering as well for sheet tension.

More about that during next days, stay tuned .

    Default Dutch brando

During next days I will post new picures of Brando's sistership currently being built in Rome, meantime I have been lucky enough to find ( on the well known photograpy web site "flickr" ) a nice gallery about the building log of another Brando lunched in holland .

On a dutch model web site I have seen there is also a forum about this nice model.

Unfortunately I have not yet been able to contact the skilled unknown modeller to praise his wonderful workmanship.

The white/green paint scheme is also very nice..

    - by the way - what about footy activities in this country ?

    Default cockpit well and deckhouse

    ...more pictures from Rome.

Once again, there are small deviations from my plans, but results are without doubt interesting
